Our 2022 Grenache Noir was truly a wine of the “météo”, more fluid and textural, with an innocent freshness delivering the notes of the garrigue with a backbone of dark fruit, and it
proved very popular, selling out quickly. Our 2023 delivers those crystalline black fruits, with hints of violets and savour that we are noted for. That freshness has remained but against an elegant and structured backbone with a delicacy which is very pleasing/appealing/delicious/most pleasurable. To the finish that are hints of liquorice and mint, we say, a delightful wine and the 2022’s beautiful sibling!
VINTAGE REPORT:
Budding in cool then dry conditionsAt the end of 2022, despite some soil water reserves, there was a winter rainfall deficit. The beginning of the season was difficult, with temperatures cooler than usual. Vegetative growth, far from explosive, even slowed down in dry parts. Until mid-August, the summer of 2023 was only moderately hot. It was at this point that high temperatures accelerated sugar loading on early ripening grape varieties, leading to a delayed start to harvesting. This climate continued to persist, causing berry withering and leaf drying. This heatwave played a significant role in the decline in harvest volumes. The 2023 vintage was quite complex at every stage, and the winemaker had to demonstrate much technical skill.

The owners purchased a winery in southwest France and worked closely with passionate local vignerons in the town of La Liviniere, to produce small-production quality wines.
