Stratus Vineyards
Situated in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Stratus Vineyards, like its signature assemblage wines, is a composition – a whole greater than the sum of its parts. On their own, the individual elements are distinctly unique – a diversely planted vineyard with mineral-rich soil, and a sustainable facility that unites tradition and science to serve the winemaker's art.
Eighteen varieties are grown on the 55-acre Vineyard, all of which are vigilantly maintained and rigorously thinned by hand to yield fruit with more concentrated flavours.
Charles Baker Wines
Crafted in collaboration with Stratus Vineyard in Canada's Niagara region, Charles Baker focuses on exceptional Riesling that captures the distinctive character of carefully selected sites. The flagship 2019 CB Riesling Vinemount Ridge stands as a testament to this commitment - balanced, elegant, and complex - earning recognition as the first Canadian wine chosen for the Masters of Wine Blind Examination and runner-up for Canadian Wine of the Year at Gold Medal Plates.
The project draws from partnerships with the region's finest vineyard stewards, most notably a decade-long collaboration with Bob Nedelko at the Ivan Vineyard on the Twenty Mile Bench. His meticulous care yields complex, fruit-forward expressions that capture the complexity Niagara is capable of. Beyond the traditional bottle, Charles Baker continues to push boundaries - introducing Riesling in cans for casual occasions and a Traditional Method Sparkling wine that brings levity and celebration. There's an unpretentious philosophy here: great wine shouldn't be confined to ceremony.
