Luigi and Fiorina always treated their vines with the utmost care. Since 2009, the vineyards have been farmed under an organic protocol, as per the Vajra’s tradition. With an incredible ratio of manual work per hectare, the Vajra family has brought forward the incredible work of Luigi and Fiorina Baudana. Intense research is also placed into monitoring and improving the biodiversity of both flora and fauna not just in the vineyards, but also in the winery fields and forests.
Winemaking: Hand picked, destemmed, and hand sorted. Picked ripe and late with lower alcohol potential – fast fermentation and maceration in neutral tanks to allow for a lighter style of red wine.

The origin of our cellar is lost in time: Baudana is the name of the family, but it is also the name of the vineyard and of the hamlet of Serralunga d’Alba, where we are located. A humble and true story. Luigi Baudana and his wife Fiorina originally vinified only for themselves, and then in 1996 they enclosed their hard work in their first vintage of Barolo in bottle.
