2022 San Felo Lampo Morellino di Scansano DOCG
Lampo, Morellino di Scansano, is produced from carefully selected Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo grapes. The vineyards are exposed to the north-west winds.
Lampo was the nickname of Federico’s grandfather, born in 1912. A Maremman cowboy, a tribute to him appears on the front label with his picture on a horse.
VINIFICAtION
Once in the cellar, the grapes are gently destemmed and ferment in stainless-steel tanks at a constant temperature of 30 °C.
AGING
After separation from the skins, the wine is immediately transferred to 10 hl barrels and tonneaux, where it ages for 15–18 months. Before release, the wine undergoes further aging in the bottle.
TASTING NOTES
The wine shows a ruby-red color, with a complex and refined bouquet of red fruits perfectly combined with spicy notes. On the palate, it is smooth and enveloping, with refined tannins.
