It is a wine full of wild fruits, with a juicy mouth, tannins polished and enveloping finish.
VINIFICATION
The grapes of the three varieties fermented separately in stainless steel vats, with smooth reassembly.
AGING
Partially the wine aged in French oak barrels.
THE HARVEST
2022 was a very dry year throughout the months of winter, spring and summer. The heat and low humidity limited the vine diseases and facilitated organic practices, resulting in grapes very healthy. However, due to the lack of water, production was scarce, with bunches and berries smaller than normal. Anticipating the harvest allowed us to obtain very aromatic, fresh and precise whites and rosés and concentrated reds with firm tannins.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Quinta do Cardo is the most historic wine estate in Beira Interior, located between the protected landscape of the Douro International Reserve and the historic village of Castelo Rodrigo, at an altitude of around 750 meters. Its 180 hectares of area are home to forest, cork oaks and around 80 hectares of vineyards. Since 2014 it has been certified in organic production mode. With a continental-influenced climate, winters are harsh and summers have strong temperature variations between day and night. The low humidity favors organic practices and the altitude provides the grapes with slow maturation and excellent acidity. The soils are clayey of granite and schist origin, with quartz veins.
